The Ellis Hospital School of Nursing financial aid program is dedicated to providing financial resources to matriculated students who want to further their education but would not be able to do so without financial assistance. All aid is processed in accordance with required government regulations and every effort will be made to advise students/applicants in a way that will best prepare them for the expenses associated with study at Ellis Hospital School of Nursing.

How to Apply for Financial Aid
Financial aid applications are available online by clicking the links below or at the school’s financial aid office, and must be completed each academic year. At Ellis Hospital School of Nursing, an academic year begins with the Fall semester and concludes with the Summer session.
Students applying for financial aid must complete the following applications:
- Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
- Ellis Application for Financial Aid
The FAFSA should be completed and mailed directly to the processor. Returning students may bypass the FAFSA and complete the Renewal FAFSA. The Ellis application should be returned to the school office. Any questions regarding completion of the applications, or consideration of special circumstances, may be directed to the Financial Aid Coordinator at the school office. Ellis Hospital School of Nursing encourages students to apply for financial aid as early as possible.
The Ellis Hospital School of Nursing will comply with all verification or correction requirements as required by the current U.S. Department of Education verification guide. If an application (FAFSA) has been selected for verification, no disbursement for any Title IV aid will be approved until verification has been completed. The student will be notified, in a timely manner, when verification or correction is necessary and what information or documentation is required to conclude the process. After verification has been completed, the application process will continue. Ellis Hospital School of Nursing must receive a valid student aid report (SAR or ISIR) before Title IV aid can be disbursed.
Determining Financial Need
Most types of financial aid are based on a student's demonstrated need. When a student applies for aid, the information reported is used in a federal formula that calculates an Expected Family Contribution (EFC). The EFC is an amount the student and his or her family is expected to contribute toward the cost of education. The total Cost of Attendance (COA) includes tuition, books, fees, and other living expenses associated with attending Ellis Hospital School of Nursing. Financial need is then determined by subtracting the EFC from the COA. The amount remaining is considered the student's financial need.
