Academic OverviewAcademic Status Matriculated students will be provided a copy of an academic transcript at the completion of each semester. Academic status is determined by the total credit hours attempted, semester and cumulative grade point averages (CGPA) and number of credit hours completed. A student's grade point average (GPA) is determined by dividing the quality points earned by the total credit hours attempted. The GPA and CGPA are carried out two places beyond the whole number. No rounding of numbers is permitted. Grade Point Average
When computing a student's GPA, required college courses, regardless of sequence, are calculated with those taken at the Ellis Hospital School of Nursing. Grading SystemStudents will be evaluated according to the following grading system for Ellis Hospital School of Nursing:
The following grades are assigned by the course instructor and are not counted in determining the GPA.
A nursing course is comprised of classroom and clinical experiences. To pass a nursing course with a clinical component, the student must achieve a minimum grade of 75 in theory and a satisfactory clinical evaluation. Clinical competency is evaluated on a satisfactory / unsatisfactory basis. Successful course completion is defined as receiving a grade of C or above in all required courses. All students who attain a CGPA of 3.5 or greater will graduate with honors. |

Our Mission: The mission of the Ellis Hospital School of Nursing is to prepare the Associate degree graduate for Registered Professional Nurse licensure. The graduate will function as a beginning nurse who provides safe, competent, compassionate nursing care to maximize the health and well being of all people served.
